Qualifications for membership

To be eligible to join the Connaught Club any prospective member must conform to two basic principles:

  • To be under 35 years of age

    • and

  • To be a subscribing member of a Lodge or Chapter under the Metropolitan Grand Lodge / Chapter of London,
  • or to be a subscribing member of a Lodge or Chapter under the United Grand Lodge of England and currently living or working within Greater London

Cessation of any of these qualifications will result in membership of the Connaught Club being terminated ipso facto.

Benefits of membership

Members of the Connaught Club will have exclusive access to:

  • Members-only events
  • Be able to invite guests to white table-type occasions
  • An online forum for general Masonic discussion and to arrange inter-visitation to other members’ Lodges and Chapters
  • Smaller, informal ‘beer after work’ meet-ups arranged ad-hoc
  • Open Invitation Diary – Anyone put their meeting dates on for members to visit if they wish

Upon joining members will also receive a Connaught Club tie and lapel pin.

Cost of membership

Membership of the Connaught Club is currently set at £25 per annum payable in May every year. In addition there is a one-off £15 joining fee. All membership fees are to be paid by standing order directly into the club’s bank account.

Primarily these fees will pay for the majority of venue costs and other overheads incurred in setting up and running the planned activities throughout the year.

The Connaught Club is not in any way a profit-making organisation. At the end of each financial year the committee will decide upon a sensible level of working capital to take forward for the next year’s event bookings and donate the remainder of the surplus in the club accounts between the four main Masonic charities.
